Clearly this album isn't only timpani & gong, as the fantastic music box cacophony on this track shows, but a lot of the other sounds I honestly can't tell if they could be made with those instruments or not! As well as the pleasure of the inventive and unique range of sounds, though, there's a real theatricality to this journey: not just a set of tracks but a complete performance that is always leading you somewhere but only at the pace the performer allows. Magic.
